Just a few seconds ago Native instruments uploaded in familiar style a video of great djs working their new equipment. This time I'm not that impressed.
Yes the new S8 got the hi resolution led screens but the box is probably just as shit as the S4 MkII. Yes this is a cool type of kit if you are going to mash up small clips of song to create a "journey" or something. Problem is ,99% of the djs isn't doing that .Djs are playing track after track and MAYBE putting some acapella's on top of it.Native Instruments are "shaping" the dj future to something it isn´t . Give us a controller that has jog wheels and a usb stick slot. What Luciano said was - "I can now hide away my computer" . Yes you do mr Luciano, but you still need to bring it to the club ,so why don't you just look at it??. So you still need your computer and you still need the Traktor software. You got a midi controller with screens and no jog wheels. You got sampler pads like the F1 and the rest is a upgraded S4. If the XLR are missing on the back, I will puke. If they upgrade the Traktor DJ software on iPad to fit this controller, it's a step in the right direction.
This is what they should have released:
A controller with the features the S8 got ,but with jog wheels. It needs a usb load in or a synchronise feature that lets you have all your banks/tracks stored in the unit. A feature that let's 2 units connect would be a winner.
This is a picture that surfaced a couple of days ago. It looks legit.
